GSUK celebrates joint Gorkha Fresher’s Day

KOHIMA, AUGUST 1 (MExN): The Gorkha Students' Union Kohima (GSUK) celebrated its joint Gorkha Fresher's Day on July 28 at GPPK Hall, Chandmari, Kohima. It was attended by various Gorkha NGOs, senior students and 28 freshers from various school and colleges around Kohima.  

The programme started with an opening song by the youths of Gorkha Biswakarma Pariwarik Welfare Society. Annie Konthoujam, Headmistress, Coraggio School in her speech encouraged the students to have a purpose and to be successful in life. Santu thapa, President GPPK urged the students to develop skills and empower themselves and also to contribute towards the society.  

Bidhan Khapangee Thapa and Arsa Chettri were crowned GSUK 2018 Mr and Miss Fresher respectively. Exhortation was given by Karan Chettri and speech on behalf of the seniors was given by Neha Chettri. A special number was presented by Kabir and Rohit and the programme was chaired by Rajesh Lama, General Secretary of GSUK.
