Guv meets Dimapur district HoDs

Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, BP Acharya held a meeting with Dimapur district head of departments (HoDs) to review the performances of different government departments at DC Conference hall, Dimapur on July 2.  

A DIPR report informed that while reviewing the performances of different flagship schemes of different departments, Governor reminded that the flagship schemes are aimed at uplifting the poor and under-privileged sections of the society. He therefore, urged the government officials to make sure that the targeted people are benefited under such schemes.  

Governor also appealed the officers in the district to point out and give suggestions to the government for better and effective implementation of different programmes. Further, he called on all the officers in the district to work towards strengthening of the most neglected and poor people, adding that it is the duty and responsibility of every educated person, the report stated.  

Expressing concern over the poor result of government schools, Acharya stated that the poorest come to government schools and he therefore called on the department officials to sort reasons behind such poor performance .   Commissioner of Police, on being asked about the law and order situation in the district said it was by and large peaceful. He also briefed a preview of crime cases registered and its status under Dimapur district.  

Stating that Nagaland is a beautiful state blessed with maximum natural resources, he pressed upon the people for identifying the avenues to make Nagaland an economically independent state. He also advised all the officers to be nodal agents of different schemes while encouraging them to boldly stand against corruption and to help create conducive atmosphere where everyone is treated equally and with respect.  

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel, who also delivered the welcome address.
