Health workers oriented on Population Stabilization Fortnight

Peren, July 8 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer’s office, Peren district held its District Level Family Planning (FP) review meeting cum orientation on observance of World Population Day and Population Stabilization Fortnight on July 7 at the CMO conference hall here.  

The meeting was attended by District Program Officers, Medical Officers, ANMs, GNMs, Pharmacist, Vaccinators, CMOs establishment staff, District Program Management Unit and Block Program Management Unit Staff, stated a press release issued by Pezanguno Celine Secü, District Media Officer, CMO office, Peren.  

The CMO, Dr. Denis Hangsing highlighted about the Population Stabilization Fortnight which will be observed from July 11 till 24. He requested the health workers to submit the reports regarding the observance on time, which is on a daily basis. He further urged them to motivate and sensitize at the grassroots level during the fortnight.  

Dr. Khrielasanuo, DPO UIP/RCH briefed on the guidelines to be followed during the fortnight. She urged the Medical Officers and health workers to be in their place of posting to provide quality service delivery. All the members were asked to carry out intensive awareness about Family Planning and Health Units to conduct counseling during the OPD hours, provide free FP service delivery such as distribution of condoms, OCP, E-pill, IUCD INSERT IGNOREion and Lap Ligation. Inter personal communication is to be conducted by the ASHAs in all the villages and Focus Group discussion will be held in all the four blocks. She also informed that Lap Ligation will be done on July 17, 18, 24 and 25, 2017 at CHC Jalukie and on July 19 at District Hospital Peren. She urged everyone to work in coordination to achieve the target.

DPM Elizabeth reminded all the health units to sumit PAN card photocopy at the earliest. She also informed that the referral transport amount for JSSK Rs 250/ has been enhanced to Rs. 500/ since October 2016. Therefore, she requested to submit the statement of expenditure accordingly. She also informed that the funds for VHND have been released in all the four blocks.  

Dr. Tiala, Dy. CMO highlighted the errors in the HMIS reports and that the monthly reports quality is degrading. She highlighted the areas that need to be verified and ensured to be maintained in the reports. She urged the health workers to be sincere and be responsible. She earnestly requested the Medical Officers to cross check the reports before submitting and also to sign them.  

IEC materials, condoms and contraceptives pills, pregnancy test kit were distributed to the health units.
