H&FW department conducts training on eVIN

Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): A one day training on eVIN (electronic Vaccine and Intelligence Network) Temperature Logger and Installation, organized by Department of Health and Family Welfare in collaboration with UNDP, was held at Hotel Vivor, Kohima on April 25.  

The training was attended by the State Cold Chain Officer and the Cold Chain Technicians and Vaccine & Cold Chain Manager’s (VCCM) of all 11 Districts of Nagaland, a press note informed  

The training was chaired by Kingson Kamkara SPO UNDP and the facilitators were from National UNDP and Nexleaf and started with opening remarks by Dr. Visasieu Kire, SIO Nagaland.  

Sessions on Introduction to eVIN Temperature Logger, Logger Installation Process and Sign off, Logger association with eVIN, eVIN Temperature Monitoring, SOP and Escalation mechanism were conducted by officials of UNDP and Nexleaf.  

All ILR (Ice Lined Refrigerator) and Deep Freezers at the State and District Vaccine Stores and ILRs at all Cold Chain Points in Nagaland will be fitted with smart temperatures loggers which will transmit regular temperature updates via mobile network on eVIN portal, the press note further informed.  

This will enable officials at the District and State officials to monitor and ensure that vaccines all over Nagaland are stored at recommended temperatures to ensure the potency of each vaccine, it added.
