Historical place ‘Alungma’ re-dedicate

Dimapur, July 28 (MExN): The Alungma Legendary Tourism Club members of Mongchen villagers re-dedicated a historical place called Alungma located on the eastern part of Mongchen village, one kilometer away from the village. This spot became significantly important in the region due to long stay of two legendary lovers called Jena and Etiben.
It is said that Etiben was the most beautiful woman in Ao country from Mopungchuket village who had fallen in love with one Jena from the same village. Once upon a time, these two lovers lived on the same spot called Alungma now at Mongchen village. There is a family of Stones signifying a son, stone bed, looking glass, stone of homesickness, a blind mithun and many other distinct marks on the stones such as the footprints of Jena and Etiben, flower cutting stand, sitting prints, spear marks of Jena and his etc.
Next to Alungma, there is another historical Stone called Nuksu Lung (tear shedding Stone) that can be seen from Asetkong and Langpangkong ranges. Different color of tears signifies different meaning that sheds from the stone time to time.  
The Convener of the club, R. Wati Pongen in a press release said that the members of the Alungma Legendary Tourism Club of Mongchen villagers comprising Village Council members, Mongchen Baptist Church, Youth Department and members from Mokokchung town re-dedicated the spot for further development of the spot on July 23. Rev. I Niken, Pastor invoked re-dedication prayer. Prof A Lanunungsang, from Nagaland University as Consultant, Pastor Rev. I Niken and R. Wati Pongen Convener, motivated the crowd by planting one rubber tree each before mass plantation in and around Alungma by its members. Alungma Legendary Tourism Club is a registered society bearing registration No. 11/RS-2493 dated 18.07.2002. The Legendary Tourism Club of Mongchen villager is frantically trying to develop this project with commitment as entrusted by Village Council through a strong resolution made in 2002.
