ICSI announces 100% fee waiver for NE students

Career guidance seminar at Unity College, Dimapur on June 2   Dimapur, May 29 (MExN): The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is organizing free career guidance seminar at Unity College, Dimapur on June 2 at 1:00 pm. The institute has also announced 100% registration fee waiver for Company Secretary course for North East students.   The ICSI team visiting Unity College comprises of Dr. Shyam Agarwal, President, ICSI; Makarand M Lele, Vice-President, ICSI; Ankur Yadav, Joint Secretary (SG) Student Services, ICSI;  Pravin Kumar Chhajer, Vice-Chairman, NE Chapter of ICSI; and Chiranjeeb Sarma Roy, Office In-Charge, NE Chapter of ICSI.   A press release from Amit Pareek, Chairman, NE Chapter of ICSI informed that the seminar will include interaction with the faculty and students of Unity College and other colleges and schools by the ICSI dignitaries followed by a press conference at 3:00 pm.   ICSI is a premier national professional body constituted under an Act of Parliamentary (Company Secretaries Act, 1980), the release said, adding the institute functions under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India. Set up to regulate and develop the profession of Company Secretaries, ICSI has its Headquarters in New Delhi and 4 Regional Councils in Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi and 68 chapters spread all over India.   The institute as part of its social responsibility initiatives and alignment towards the initiatives of Government of India for inclusive growth of people from different parts of country is launching the 100% Fee Waiver Scheme for students from North Eastern States of India, the release stated.   Fee Waiver Scheme This scheme includes waiving the fee for all the students registering for the Foundation and Executive Programme Stages in CS courses from North East States (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim) till March 31, 2018. All students belonging to North Eastern States who have passed the 10+2 Examinations and Bachelor’s Degree Examinations/ CPT of ICAI/ Foundation pass of ICAI COST irrespective of the percentage of marks shall be eligible for fee waiver while registering for Foundation Programme and Executive Programme Stage respectively.   All such students can take direct admission in Foundation and Executive stage as the case may be without paying any fees.   To implement the scheme effectively, the release maintained, it is significant that the top dignitaries of the State join hands with the institute for the social cause. “This drive will not only benefit the students of Nagaland but it will also help them in joining CS as a career which is considered as one of the most coveted professions.”
