Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): IQAC Immanuel College, Dimapur organised 'One Day Faculty and Development Programme on NEP 2020' on March 20 at the College Conference Hall, with the Principal, Livingstone Foundation International College, Dr RK Behera as the resource speaker.

According to a press release, the resource person gave a briefing on the structure of the New Educational Policy, 2020 formulated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and said that multidisciplinary system would be made mandatory in every institution under the policy. The speaker highlighted some of the major modifications such as 4 years degree programme, Academic Bank of credit, incubation centres, international development plan, MoU with foreign countries, student-teacher ratios, cluster of college, professional practice, etc. He also mentioned that International Accreditation Organisation will replace NAAC assessment and every college will be autonomous with no affiliation to universities. He also reiterated the various challenges that need to be meted out with proper plan and preparation, the release stated.

The programme was chaired by Nengpilhing, coordinator of IQAC, Immanuel College while Lanusangla Imsong, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, pronounced the invocation followed by welcome note from the Principal, Immanuel College Th Sharatchandra Singh.
