Kohima, February 25 (MExN): Kohima Police arrested one person from Lower Naga Bazar here on charges of burglary on February 24. The accused identified as Hukato Swu (20) was arrested following an FIR lodged by a resident of Lower Forest Colony, Kohima stating that on February 20, 2017 night burglary took place at his residence and the burglar(s) decamped with one licensed .32 pistol and cash amounting to around Rs. 5000. The FIR was filed on February 21 around 2:00 pm. The accused was arrested based on reliable input received from sources, according to a press release from Atu Zumvü, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (South) & PRO, Kohima. The accused, the PRO said, voluntarily admitted of his involvement in the said burglary during interrogation. In this connection, a criminal case vide Kohima South P.S Case No. 0014/2017 U/S 457/380 IPC has been registered against the arrested person for conducting further investigation. Meanwhile, the said licensed pistol was handed over to the rightful owner on Zimma after proper verification, the release added.
