Kohima Science College welcomes freshers

Youth Resources and Sports Advisor Er Zale Neikha today called upon the educated youth in Nagaland to look to think beyond the State services go beyond state boundaries, even abroad and make known to the outside world that Nagas are second to none.  

Addressing the 57th Fresher’s Social cum Charity Concert of Kohima Science College (Autonomous) Jotsoma, Er. Neikha while referring to the popular phrase “survival of the fittest”, said in today’s world, the phrase does not confine to natural selection alone but it also covers human.  

“We are forced to compete with each other in order to excel over another, and therefore if you want to become someone in the society one has to do better than their colleagues. Therefore, one should have the spirit of competition,” he said.   Expressing that employment avenue in government sector is limited, he said unless the students are hardworking they may not get employment in government sector.  

Nonetheless, he said seeking education does not necessarily confine to getting employed in government job but as an educated person one should search their own talent, and once they find that they will not remain unemployed.  

In this, he challenged the youngsters to “think beyond our state services; we should go beyond our state boundaries, even abroad and make known to the outside world that Nagas are second to none”.  

Maintaining that the present generation is fortunate to have all the facilities at their end to gain knowledge, he said “Technology is at your palm, a ‘click’ or ‘touch of screen’ will feed you with what you want to know”. He also cautioned them to utilise the facilities in proper manner and never to misuse it.  

As an alumnus of the college, Er Neikha congratulated the fresher’s for coming out with flying colours in the HSSLC Examination 2018.  

Stating that education in the present society is in a very high pace, he asked them to be serious with your studies. In today’s world everything is competition and more so is education.  

“You should not forget that you are studying in the most prestigious Government College in Nagaland here at Jotsoma,” he told them while expressing hope that everyone will uphold the good reputation of KSCJ during their time.
