Late Sentitemsu Memorial Lecture at University of Hyderabad

Hyderabad, January 22 (MExN): The Naga Research Scholar’s Forum of the University of Hyderabad is organizing the Dr. I. Sentitemsu Imsong Annual Memorial Lecture on Thursday, January 25, 2:30 pm at the university’s Zakir Hussain Lecture Hall Complex.  

A lecture on ‘The Scientific work of I. Sentitemsu Imsong’ will be delivered by Prof. B. Ananthanarayan, Chairman and Professor, Centre for High Energy Physics (CHEP), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, over Skype.  

Hailing from Mokokchung, late Imsong received his PhD degree at the age of 27 from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. His PhD thesis titled “Improvement on Hardonic Form Factors using Analyticity and Unitarity Constraints” completed under the supervision of Prof. B. Ananthanarayan was awarded the best thesis in Theoretical Physics at IISc for the year 2012. Late Imsong also has over 20 published papers in referred journals during his short life.  

A topper in both HSLC and HSSLC examinations under Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), late Imsong secured the gold medal in B.Sc (Physics) under Nagaland University before completing his M.Sc Physics from the University of Hyderabad and his PhD at the Centre for High Energy Physics (CHEP), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore in 2008.  

Thereafter, he completed three Post-Doctoral Studies at the University of Siegen, Germany (2013-14), Ben Gurion University, Israel (2014-15), and the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai (2015).  

Late Imsong was selected for the post of Assistant Professor in both IIT Guwahati and IIT Hyderabad, but unfortunately passed away in Bangalore on October 30, 2015.
