DIMAPUR, APRIL 1 (MExN): The 18th edition of the Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) Football Martyrs Trophy will commence from April 29 at public ground Wokha town with Yitachu, Minister of School Education as Chief Guest. The tournament is organized every year by the LSU in memory of Lt. Chumdamo Tungoe and Lt. Thungkhomo Ezung who “laid their precious life on 14th April 1977 in police firing during the silent procession organized by LSU in protest against the inhuman and barbaric act meted out to the then SDO (Civil) of Ralan, Ngurkhuma Mizo by Assam Police and Assam Forest Guard.” All interested teams/clubs have been invited to get the registration forms at LSU office/Nongo Publication opposite SBI Wokha.
