Mokokchung, October 8 (MExN): Come October 20, and Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) and Mokokchung Press Club (MPC) will play an exhibition match as part of the ongoing silver jubilee edition of the MDFA Trophy 2017 on the theme ‘Football for Mokokchung’. The Mokokchung Press Club (MPC), whose members are also ardent football lovers with die heart fans of those teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, has been a part of the MDFA Trophy for many years and this year’s exhibition match will also be an initiative of promoting this beautiful game called football in Mokokchung district. The Mokokchung Press Club, though one of the youngest and smallest Press Clubs in Nagaland, is a robust organization contributing actively towards the growth of the fourth estate in Nagaland and also the society. The Club is headed by Limalenden Longkumer (attached with The Morung Express) as the president and Sashimeren Jamir (attached with Tir Yimyim) as the general secretary. The MDFA XI team will be captained by Supongwati (the Tournament Secretary of MDFA Trophy) while the MPC team will be led by its president Limalenden Longkumer as the captain. This exhibition match, which will be one of its kind in Mokokchung district, is being held with the noble vision of promoting the game of football and also to convey the message that football is a universal game loved by all. Towards this end, the MDFA XI and Mokokchung Press Club have invited all football lovers to come and witness the match on October 20.
