Mobile towers: SC to hear COAI plea on Monday

New Delhi, May 24 (UNI) The Supreme Court today decided to hear on Monday a plea of the COAI (Cellular Operators Association of India) related to shifting of mobile towers. The two-judge vacation bench of the apex court was headed by Justice L Nageswar Rao and also comprised Justice Navin Sinha. The COAI, the association of the telecom body, had knocked the doors of the apex court challenging the Rajasthan High Court's order which had sought removal of many mobile towers located within 500 metre distance of jails in the state. The State High Court had cited a notification issued by the state government which had allowed such towers to function. This was challenged by the COAI in the apex court. UNI XC RP1750
