NAAC Peer Team visits Kohima College

Kohima, September 6 (MExN): The second cycle of NAAC assessment and accreditation of Kohima College, Kohima with peer team members came to a close with the Exit Meeting in the late afternoon of September 5. The NAAC team consisted of Prof SN Yadav, Former VC, APS University, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh as Chairperson, Prof T Siddaiah, Former Registrar and Professor, Department of Management Studies, Venkateswara University as Co-ordinator, and Dr. PK Debnath, Principal, Cooch Behar College.  

The assessment process which ensued on September 4 consisted of interactive sessions with the various departments, visit to facilities of the college, interactive session with the students, community members, alumni and parents of the college and luncheon meeting with stake holders of the college which was attended by the Deo Nukhu, Advisor to Higher Education and Nagaland Bee Keeping and Honey Mission, Nagaland, Rajesh Soundararajan, Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Kuholi Chisi, Director of Higher Education, Officials of Department of Higher Education, Dr Upathaya, Director CDC, Nagaland University, Lumami, and a host of other officials from various departments. An impressive cultural progamme was organised for the evening programme and the Day 1 culminated with a dinner hosted by Deo Nukhu, Advisor, Higher Education and Bee Keeping Mission Nagaland.  

The day 2 of the process consisted of visit to the administrative and finance section of the institute, checking of documentary evidences and Exit Meeting.  

Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, Minister, Road and Bridges, who is also a son of one of the founding fathers of the college hosted a grand dinner for the visiting NAAC Peer Team and faculty of the college on the final night of team’s visit at The Heritage, DC Bungalow.
