NAGA CHEF SEASON-5: Rokokhono serves the best dish

A homemaker, a wife and a mother to 13 years old son, Rokokhono Rhutso Nyekha served the best dishes at the Naga Chef Season 5.  

The final result for the contest, which began on December 2, was declared during the closing ceremony of the Hornbill Festival at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 10. Rokokhono, who aspires to be an independent woman and sees a scope of becoming so by indulging in her passion, i.e., cooking through eatery business, walked home richer with a cash prize of 3 lakhs.  

Her dishes over-shadowed 10 other contestant in the process. The top 3 runners up, Khrusatolu Chuzho, Shiumai Phom and Nisi Chase received Rs. 25,000/- each. Chase, a 14-year-old student from Dimapur, was the youngest contestant this season. Her passion for cooking started when she was 9 years old and her dream is to run a food truck in Nagaland one day.  

Naga Chef is an annual event which is organized by Synergy Group Enterprises in partnership with the Department of Tourism, Nagaland. It is held to exhibit the different delicacies of the various tribes of Nagaland and to promote indigenous Naga cuisines to the rest of the world.
