Nagaland: 'CHILDLINE Se Dosti Campaign 2019’ concludes

Dimapur, November 16 (MExN): This year, the CHILDLINE network took up 'CHILDLINE Se Dosti Campaign 2019,' a weeklong national campaign with the aim to make a million more friends for CHILDLINE 1098.


In Dimapur, “CHILDLINE Se Dosti” campaign started off on November 8 where CHILDLINE Dimapur organized School Awareness at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.


The team took up various sessions on CHILDLINE 1098 service, anti-bullying at school and adolescent sexual health, stated a press release. The team also distributed pamphlets/leaflets to all the students. On November 9, the team conducted wall painting for awareness generation at Government Middle School, Thilixu. On November 11, CHILDLINE Dimapur conducted awareness programmes at two government middle schools at Government Higher Secondary School, Niuland.


The team in collaboration with District Child Protection Unit distributed sanitary pads to girl students of the three schools and stressed on the importance of a healthy hygiene for a healthy life.


On November 12 and 13, the team visited different stakeholders, allied systems, partners and well-wishers and extended gratitude for their support towards CHILDLINE and its activities over the years.


The team on November 13 also visited the flood victims of Petla colony under Naharbari and extended its pledge of ‘CHILDLINE se Dosti’ towards the children by sharing the message of CHILDLINE 1098 which is for all kinds of children in need of care and protection.


Cloths were distributed to more than 40 children who were affected during the recent flood.


The team concluded its campaign on November 14 by visiting Missionaries of Charity at Riverbelt colony, and Chavara Home, Naharbari. The team celebrated Children’s Day with the children and other inmates of both Homes and shared about the day’s significance.


The team also assured support towards all the children for any kind of assistance. Toiletry materials such as soaps, toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary pads etc were distributed. 


During the weeklong Campaign, CHILDLINE Dimapur reached out to around 1000 children.

 

Kohima: CHILDLINE Kohima conducted a series of activities which included awareness on CHILDLINE 1098, Dosti Pledge and tying of Dosti band to health care service providers, drawing competition with the children from Children’s Home, special talk on All India Radio. 


CHILDLINE Kohima concluded its Campaign with Gregory Thejawelie Sote, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kohima along with his officials taking the Dosti Pledge and Dosti Band to support CHILDLINE Kohima. 


Kohima team appreciated the support and cooperation of the DC Kohima, Chief Medical Officer Kohima, Senior Medical Officers, Medical Officers and staff of Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHC), Community Health Centres (CHC), Primary Health Centers (PHC) and Sub-Centres, coordinator of spartan open children home and medias for making the campaign meaningful and successful.


“CHILDLINE Se Dosti Campaign” is a weeklong national campaign carried out by CHILDLINE across the country to extend invitation to every concerned citizen to become a friend of CHILDLINE in helping children in need of care and protection and to reach out to people from all walks of life to sensitize them on the cause of Children and to do their bit towards making our city a safer place for children.
