Spasmo seized

DIMAPUR, MAY 6 (MExN): Police personnel manning the Chumukedima check-post confiscated restricted drug from a Manipur-bound vehicle on May 6. The police recovered 12, 000 capsules of spasmo proxyvon from the vehicle, a Maruti Alto (DL 2CAH 5754). The driver of the vehicle, identified as Thotngachan (28 years), who is a resident of Diphupar, was arrested and the car impounded. It could not be ascertained where the drug was procured. Police said that investigation was on in this regard.
 
World AIDS Orphans Day on May 7

Kohima, May 6 (MExN): Nagaland will be observing World AIDS Orphans Day on May 7 at 9:30 AM at LCS Building Kohima. Dr. Joyce Z. Angami will grace the function as special guest. The programme will be followed by outing for the children to Dimori Cove, Kigwema.

Cooperation dept to launch website

Kohima, May 6 (DIPR): The Department of Cooperation will be launching the department official website at the Registrar of Cooperative Society office, AG road, Kohima on May 7 at 11:30 a.m. Commissioner & Secretary, B.P. Chetri will inaugurate the website.

KSUD informs on membership fee

Dimapur, May 6 (MExN): Konyak Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD) will be collecting annual membership fee for statistical record for the year 2014 from May 7 onwards. Therefore, KSUD has urged upon the principals and authorities of schools, institutes, and colleges within Dimapur to cooperate stating it is mandatory for every Konyak student. TSUD union assembly on May 8

Dimapur, May 6 (MExN): The Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) will hold its union assembly on May 8, 3:00 pm at its office. Therefore, all the tribal units and senior leaders have been informed to attend the assembly positively. The union secretary, information & publicity, also informed that the subordinated bodies can also attend the assembly.

ANSTA Kiphire unit informs 

Kiphire, May 6 (MExN): The All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) Kiphire Unit has informed all its office bearers, area executive members, headmasters, head teachers and teacher in-charges of Government High Schools, Government Middle Schools, and Government Primary Schools that there will be an emergency meeting on May 9, 2:00 pm at Government High School Yangphi, Kiphire town.  All heads of schools have been asked to send their teacher representative in case they cannot attend the meeting. The association would impose stern action against the defaulters as per ANSTA Resolution Article 3, stated a press release.

NICGOA executive committee meeting

Kohima, May 6 (MExN): A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Nagaland Industries & Commerce Gazetted Officers’ Association (NICGOA) has been scheduled on June 9, 1:00 PM in the conference hall of the Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Nagaland Kohima. Stating that there are important issues to be urgently discussed in the meeting, NICGOA president Er S Temsulong has requested all concerned to make it convenient to attend the meeting positively.

DSE inform heads of
school institutions


Kohima, May 6 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education, Nagaland has directed the heads of institutions of both government and private schools to collect the state teachers’ award and financial assistance form from their respective DEO for higher and secondary schools and SDEO for elementary school from May 31. The duly filled up forms are to be submitted back to the DEO latest by June 15 for selection by the District Selection Board, and the documents of the selected candidates shall be submitted to Directorate of School Education latest by July 15 by the respective DEOs for final selection by the State Level Committee. No canvassing in any form by any candidate for the award shall be allowed except on merit basis, stated a release issued by school education director Zaveyi Nyekha.

Maintenance work
from Changki to Mkg


Mokokchung, May 6 (MExN): The maintenance work from Longtho to Changki section is almost completed and from Changki to Mokokchung section is in passage and all necessary required machinery has been shifted from Longtho to Changki. While informing this, P Chandra, OC 100 RCC (GREF) in a press release stated that the remaining portion from Changki to Mokokchung is expected to complete within one month.

TSUD reaffirms support
to ACAUT Nagaland


Dimapur, May 6 (MExN): Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has reaffirmed its “unflinching” support to the Action Committee Against Unabated Taxation Nagaland. TSUD in a press statement hoped that ACAUT Nagaland continues to “strive for noble goals in eradicating corruption and uplift the society torn by selfish vested interests.” Stating that the Nagas have remained silent for a very long time, TSUD congratulated the office bearers of ACAUT Nagaland or braving all odds for the interest of the future generation.
