Mokokchung adjudged best performing postal sub division
Mokokchung, December 5 (MExN): Nagaland witnessed the first ever North East Circle Level Rural Postal Life Insurance Mela on December 5 at Longkumer Kilem, Mokokchung. I Pangernungsang (Chief Postmaster General, NE Circle Shillong), who graced the occasion as the chief guest, emphasised on the need to make the public aware of the insurance scheme available at the Post Office, which he said is affordable, Government of India recognized and the oldest insurance scheme among the other entire private/PSU insurance providers. He also exhorted the staff on the need to spread the awareness, informed a press release received here. Awards were given away to the three Best Performing Branch Offices and Sub Offices. Mokokchung Sub Division was adjudged the Best Sub Division. The event was hosted by L. Imtikumzuk, Marketing Executive, Nagaland Division and vote of thanks was conveyed by Parma Mahato, SDIPO, Mokochung Sub Division. Earlier, RM Patel, Director Postal Services, Nagaland delivered the welcome address.
Noklak SDPDB approves proposal for EAC HQ & up-gradation of SDO (C)
Noklak, December 5 (MExN): Parliamentary Secretary L Khumo, who is also the chairperson of Noklak SDPDB, has submitted a proposal for creation of EAC HQ at Peshu village and up-gradation of SDO (C) to ADC HQ at Thonoknyu. The Noklak Sub-divisional Planning & Development Board (SDPDB) in its monthly meeting on December 5 at KTC Hall here after approval decided to forward the proposal to the higher authority for consideration. In the meeting, SDEO, Noklak also highlighted the need to extend rooms at Government High School, Thang Village. The house approved the same and forwarded for necessary action to the department concerned.
Quiz competition held in Mon
Mon, December 5 (DIPR): District round of quiz competition under the aegis of Election Commission of India was held in Mon at DC conference hall on December 5. Thavaseelan K, DC&DEO Mon in his short speech stated that the quiz competition is organized to educate the young people on election processes in the country. St. John Higher Secondary School, Mon emerged winner, while St. Mary School, Mon and Government Higher Secondary School, Mon were placed in second and third places respectively. The winners of the district round will represent at the state level contest.
