EAC Wokha notifies on arms firing practice

Wokha, July 30 (MExN): EAC Wokha Dziesengunuo Mere has informed that the 28th Assam Rifles will be carrying out small arms firing practice from July 18 to August 17 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. As per a DIPR report, all concerned colony chairman have been directed to intimate all residents in and around the firing range to keep away from the firing range to prevent any untoward incident.

 

LJP takes action against one

Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Nagaland State Unit Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) has taken action against its member Richard Humtsoe, “for violation of the party constitution,” stated a press release issued by the Member Secretary LJP.  “Accordingly the Party state unit had expelled him from active and primary membership on May 5,” it added. The Party further informed that Humtsoe has no association whatsoever with the party functionaries, and further cautioned that anybody found dealt with him in the matter of party or party behalf “shall be at his/her own risk.”

 

NSCN (IM)UT-1 recovers 2 two-wheelers

Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): The NSCN (IM), UT-1 recovered 2 two-wheeler bikes - one Suzuki chaser, Engine No. BGA1184214, Chassis No. MB8NG4BBHF811488 black color and one Bajaj Pulsar 150cc, Engine No-DHZCFB03788, Chassis No. MD2A11CZ8FCB27892 black color. This was informed in a press release issued by the Secretary Union Territory-1, NSCN (IM). It further asked the rightful owner to claim by producing along with original document at the UT-1 Office within 7 days from July 30.

 

NTUCT flays murder

Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): The Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town (NTUCT) has vehemently condemned the crime committed on a woman on July 12 by one Sanjay Lodh, whose dead body was found in a pond near Green Timber mill. The NTUCT in a press release reiterated “our firm support and solidarity with the Ao Union in their fight for justice.” The Chümoukedima Village Council and the Angami Mechli Krotho also expressing solidarity condemned the grievous crime committed. It urged the authority to punish the accused as per the provision of the law. The Union further conveyed deepest sorrow and condolences to the bereaved family, and for the departed soul to rest in peace.

 

Two with drugs arrested

Wokha, July 30 (MExN): Wokha Police team on July 29 arrested two persons and recovered drugs from their possession. As per a press release from Superintendent of Police, Wokha, based on specific information, the team searched two specific locations at Wokha town and recovered 920 tablets of Spasmo Proxyvon, 180 tablets of Daizypam and 2 packets of Heroin/Brown Sugar. The arrested persons were Chumben Odyuo (26 years) and Thungbemo Ngullie (30 years) both from Tsumang ‘A’ colony Wokha.  In this connection, two cases have been registered at Wokha Police station

 

Dimapur Police lauds EDBA & EDSSU

Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): The Dimapur Police lauded the East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) and East Dimapur Sumi Students Union (EDSSU) for conducting Traffic Awareness Campaign from July 26 to 29 at East Dimapur jurisdiction. The Dimapur police stated that such awareness campaign plays an important role in shaping the outlook of the public to become responsible drivers, passengers, pedestrians and motorist. It further reiterated that obedience to traffic rules is mandatory for safe and efficient flow of road traffic.

 

RVC, RYO, RSU to stand on its decision

Phek, July 30 (MExN): The Reguri Village Council (RVC), Reguri Youth Organization (RYO) and the Reguri Students’ Union (RSU) today clarified that it will stand on the decision made during the joint consultative meeting of May 26. The three organizations in a joint press release further issued a “warning notice through this publication to clarify” on the statement made by “three self styled VCM.” While stating that Lusichu had clarified and apologized to the organizations, “Thuchu Fithu and John Fedhu refused to clarify.” The organizations further cautioned the persons to clarify their statement “within 15 days from the date of this publication.” Failing to adhere will lead to “more serious action and even lead to excommunication for five years from the village,” the release added.
