The Assam Rifles organised a pledge ceremony and Tree Plantation drive for students of Montfort School, Baghty on August 12. The event saw an active participation with approx 200 students and 12 teachers participating in the event. Activities include distribution of flags and badges, tree plantation and refreshments. The program was aimed to instill patriotism and love for the nation in young minds.

The Assam Rifles organized an awareness lecture on 'Har Ghar Tiranga' at Chenloisho, Mon, Nagaland to promote Independence Day celebrations and the message of Har Ghar Tiranga among all on August 12. A total of 94 children and four teachers participated in the event to mark the celebration of Independence Day.

The Assam Rifles organized a lecture on the awareness of the National Flag under Har Ghar Tiranga campaign at Sister Mission School-Wangti, Nagaland on August 12. Total of 58 locals and troops participated in the lecture to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Independence Day spreading the message of Har Ghar Tiranga among all.

The Assam Rifles hosted the Azadi Walkathon on August 11 at Assam Rifles Public School in Jalukie, Peren. Azadi Walkathon, which translates to "Freedom Walk”, witnessed participation of 154 enthusiastic students from the Assam Rifles Public School. The event drew not only the students but also their supportive parents, creating a vibrant and spirited atmosphere.

The Assam Rifles in coordination with Seyong club,Tobu organized a successful August Gold Cup Football Tournament at Tobu Town, Mon. The tournament was held from August 4-10. A total of 14 teams participated in the tournament.

Different brands of illegal IMFL which were seized on different occasion in an around Wokha district were destroyed on August 12. The illegal consignments were destroyed in the presence of Addl. APP, SDPO, Wokha, officers from Wokha police station and Prosecuting Inspector.

In partnership with the State Bank of India (SBI), the Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) organised a financial literacy workshop in Wokha district on August 12, aligning with WENN’s 2023 theme ‘Financial literacy as Knowledge.’ This is the 7th districts in Nagaland where WENN has conducted workshop on Financial Literacy. The resource person was C Yanthan, Lead District Manager who provided insights on financial management, types of accounts, loans, credit score and other essential aspects of financial literacy for entrepreneurs. 

National Library Day 2023 was observed at Christina Memorial Hr Sec School on the theme ‘Reading for pleasure is better than treasure.’ The students spoke on ‘how library has had a huge impact in their lives in gaining knowledge’ along with poems and storytelling. The significance of the day was delivered by O Alem, IPS, Chief Patron. A total of 16 students were awarded by Temsujungla, Principal, CMHSS for reading and reviewing the maximum no of books. 

The Rangers Club Kohima undertook an expedition to Dzukou Valley on August 11 & 12 under the theme “Keep Clean Dzukou Mission”. The Rangers Club members, comprising of like-minded people from different professions, took the task voluntarily as a social service in creating awareness to preserve and protect the Dzukou Valley.

Shansham Organization, Mon TI organized an awareness programme on HIV/AIDS and its treatment & CBS at Yuching Village, Mon with support from Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS). During  the programme, Stephen Patton, Program Manager, Shansham Organization, Mon shared on the ‘Basics facts of HIV/AIDS’, ‘Antiretroviral Therapy’, ‘HIV/AIDS related stigma & discrimination’ and ‘Know your rights with HIV/AIDS ACT 2017.’ The program was followed by group discussion/questioning/clarification and community based HIV screening.
