Kohima, February 26 (MExN): National BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav and Assam Minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma paid a courtesy call on the new Chief Minister of Nagaland, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu on February 26 afternoon at the latter’s private residence at Ruleizou, Kohima.
The BJP leaders, according to a press release from Chief Minister’s Office, congratulated Dr. Shurhozelie on taking over the helms of affairs of the State.
Meanwhile, Himanta suggested that the entire North East be made a single tourist circuit to promote tourism in the region and revealed that the annual Hornbill Festival of Nagaland has been included in the tourism promotion programme of the Government of Assam. He suggested that further discussions be held in the next meeting of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) to ensure all-round development of the entire region, the release added. The visiting leaders of the BJP left for Guwahati later in the afternoon.
Also present at the brief meeting was former Chief Minister and DAN Coordination Committee Chairman and Advisor (Finance) TR Zeliang.
