NCSU clarifies on NPSU affiliation

Kohima, September 27 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) Head Office, Kohima has expressed surprise over the claims of Nagaland Police Suppliers Union (NPSU) having affiliation with NCSU.

“The affiliation of NPSU with NCSU does not arise as the Article VII ‘Affiliation of units’ of the Constitution of NCSU clearly states that ‘All the district unit of NCSU within the jurisdiction of Nagaland State shall be the only affiliating units of NCSU Head Office’,” stated a press release from NCSU Vice-President, KL Setuo Rutsa and Secretary, Imsünok Jamir.

Secondly, Article VIII ‘Membership’, Clause 7, says that “if any member is found having dual registration with other union parallel to NCSU body, his/her registration shall be treated as cancelled,” it added.

NCSU further informed all its bonafide members that the union will always stick to Government standing order “that all Government Contract and Supply Works in the State of Nagaland should be awarded only to the registered card holder of Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ union.”

In light of this, NCSU directed all its district unit offices to be aware and vigilant against any “self style” contractors’ organisation within their jurisdiction and inform the same to the NCSU Head Office for necessary action.
