NEC funded Multi Purpose Indoor Stadium at Pfutsero

Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Neiba Kronu on December 11 inaugurated Multi Purpose Indoor Stadium at Pfutsero under Phek district. Having three badminton courts, this is the first of its kind having multipurpose facilities in the state. The project was funded by North Eastern Council (NEC).  

Speaking on the occasion, Kronu said apart from sports activities, it would also cater weddings, public meetings, exhibitions and musical events. Touching on Naga political issue, he said if there is an early settlement it is best for Nagas. He also called upon the people to support Clean Election Campaign spearheaded by Nagaland Baptist Church Council. Kronu also said infrastructure development in and around Pfutsero is going on to make Pfutsero a tourist destination.  

Class I Contractor Vilelie Khamo in his address said there must be unity among the people to carry forward the developmental activities. He also urged upon the people to extend their cooperation to the concerned agencies and firms for effective implementation of the developmental activities.  

Earlier, the minister inaugurated Inter State Connectivity Road from Pfutsero to Tadubi (Tebupfu) constructed under MoRTH.  

This Inter State Connectivity Road covers a total length of 25 kms, said ER. Tiatemsu, EE PWD (R& B) Pfutsero. The total cost of the project as per the work order is Rs. 3869.34 lakhs. The work on began during 2014 and was successfully completed on May 20, 2016 within the stipulated time.  

Er. Tiatemsu said that Neiba Kronu was shuttling from pillar to post to get this project sanctioned and thanked the later for giving all efforts for the developmental activity at Pfutsero. Further, Kronu inaugurated the newly constructed local ground Kami (Kadie).
