Ahead of its general convention 2019 scheduled for November 22, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) today held its CEC meeting at the NPF central office.


Lok Sabha MP and NPF secretary general KG Kenye said the present tenure of NPF, be it the legislature wing or the party functionaries had faced the most difficult times with crisis after crisis but stated the tough one could survive.


Former chief minister TR Zeliang called upon the party workers to be united saying that no matter what comes in politics, “we must be firm in our stand then only the reward comes.”


NPF working president Apon Pongener briefed the history of NPF party and called upon the people to stay firm and united.


MLA Y Vikheho Swu, chairman election board (Central) said that the new team of NPF will be announced tomorrow at the convention.


Manipur PHE minister L Dikho said that it is a blessing that NPF party came into being in Manipur and expressed his happiness that the Naga people particularly of Manipur state enjoy the privilege with the existence of the NPF party.


Meanwhile, the general convention of NPF will take place from 10:55 am at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima.


During the convention, speeches will be delivered by TR Zeliang, leader of NPF Legislature Wing, Dr Lorho S Pfozhe, MP Lok Sabha (Manipur), Awangbow Newmai, president NPF Manipur state unit, Joddik Tali, working president NPF Arunachal state unit, MLA Imkong L. Imchen and MLA YM Yollow.


NPF president Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu will deliver presidential address while welcome address will be delivered by MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu.


KG Kenye, MP Rajya Sabha and secretary general NPF will present secretarial report.


The convention will be chaired by NPF working president Apong Pongener while vote of thanks will be proposed by Dr. Huskha Yepthomi, working president NPF.
