NSCN (IM) denies involvement in attack on Indian Army

Hebron, March 6 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today clarified that it has “nothing to do with the encounter between the 13th Sikh Light Infantry and unknown militants in Noney district of Zeliangrong Region on 05/03/2018 which claimed the life of Indian Army personnel.”

The NSCN (IM) in a press statement issued by its MIP refuted the “baseless allegation” leveled against the NSCN without properly ascertaining the facts.

“Such an inflammatory charge by the 13th Sikh Light Infantry is highly immature and questionable, as it comes at a time when the Nagas and GOI are very close from finding a solution,” it asserted.

“The region authorities & all the law enforcing agencies are striving hard to maintain peace in the region by keeping law & order as their highest priority.”

Therefore, the release added, “the question of involvement of the NSCN in the attack on the Indian Army is out of question and the NSCN demands ownership from the militant group responsible for the attack on the Indian Army.”
