NSS unit of ZPC celebrates foundation day

Kiphire, September 23 (MExN): The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Zisaji Presidency College (ZPC), Kiphire observed its foundation day on September 22 with the theme ‘Sharing of responsibility through social service’. Usually observed on September 24, the day had to be celebrated in advance this time since September 24 falls on Sunday.  

Helen Jamir, Principal, ZPC, in her keynote address expressed her happiness at the activities of NSS volunteers and congratulated the newly enrolled members of the NSS, said a press release from Thoshusie Katiry, Program Officer, NSS. She mentioned that NSS is a voluntary association without profit, but gives selfless dedication and service to the community. NSS, she stated, can play a vital role in creating awareness within the college campus and its surrounding in general for the upliftment of the society in many ways. The principal wished the NSS volunteers to lead a good and healthy life even in the days to come.  

An exhortation was delivered by Gagan Chandra Mishra, HoD Political Science, while the programme was chaired by Thoshusie Katiry, Program Officer, NSS. A special song was presented by Marlen Y. Sangtam followed by dance from Akumba and Male Voice from NSS volunteers. A brief report of NSS activities was shared by Thsoshethe and a brief sharing on behalf of NSS volunteers was delivered by Tsaliba Thonger.
