NWU demands to book rape accused

  Senapati, August 5 (MExN): Naga Women’s Union (NWU) has condemned the alleged rape and attempt to murder of a 15-year-old girl at Viewland, Senapati by unknown miscreant(s) on the evening of August 1.   “NWU strongly denounces the unfortunate rape and attempted murder in our society that have shocked and appalled us all. Such unfortunate happenings are attacking the very fabric of our society. Every right thinking person should condemn crimes and violence against humanity,” asserted a statement from Publicity Wing, NWU.   “The failure of parents in parenting of their children which have led to worse situation of moral degradation and the government’s failure to maintain law and order are matters of great concern now,” it added.   Meanwhile, NWU extended solidarity to the victim and her family and demanded the authority concerned to book the culprit(s) and deliver fair justice to the victim at the earliest. It demanded that befitting punishment be awarded to the culprit(s).
