NZP gets new special transportation cage

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar was equipped with a lightweight Special Resizeable Squeeze-cum-Transportation cage on the Eve of the New Year.

The cage which has a movable wall would help in holding large carnivores safely in place for veterinary procedures. It would also be useful in transporting the animals for short distances within the zoo complex.

This was informed in a press note from the Director of the Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar.

The cage was designed and fabricated by No.1 Workshop Assam Rifles located at 3rd Mile, Dimapur as a Civic Action Project. It has an innovative design since Squeeze cages are generally of fixed length while this design is constructed in two parts and is of variable length.

The NZP, in its press note expressed appreciation to Lt. Col Jaishankar, Commandant, No.1 Workshop Assam Rifles, 3rd Mile Dimapur for his personal interest and initiative to help the Nagaland Zoological Park through this project and the Assam Rifles for the assistance “as a mark of the dedication that the force holds towards the people of Nagaland.”
