Wokha, November 17 (MExN): DC Wokha, Orenthung Lotha was inducted as the President of Bharat Scout & Guides Wokha during the induction programme of office bearers and Tritiya Sopan award ceremony on November 15 at DC’s Conference Hall, Wokha. The programme was organized by Wokha District Bharat Scouts & Guides (BS&G) Association.
DC in his speech said that student’s primary duty is to be sincere in their studies, however they also require extra co-curricular activities for all round development to be better persons, added the DC.
He said that Bharat Scouts & Guides movement was one such activity which is a noble and voluntary service. The movement is to bring up youngsters to become responsible citizens, and have the basic knowledge of survival skills, while developing young people both physically and intellectually.
During the programme, 28 students from different schools under Wokha district including 12 Scouts and 16 Guides were awarded the Tritiya Sopan award.
DOC (S) H Orenpomo Ngullie and DO (G) C Bichamo Shitiri were inducted as office bearers.
Short speech was also delivered by Chairperson Lotha Eloe Hoho, Zuchobeni Ezong. The function was chaired by Head Teacher (GMS) cum District Commissioner (G) BS&G, Wokha.
Welcome address was proposed by Erenbeni Odyuo and vote of thanks was delivered by District Training Commissioner (S) Wokha, T Mhonbemo Kikon.
