ZUNHEBOTO, July 29 (MExN): Along with the rest of the world, Zunheboto District observed World Population Stabilization Forthnight from July 11 to 24 under the slogan “New Wave, New Believe - Family Development through complete responsibility”.
Mobilization of various choices of Family Planning methods were carried out by the IEC section, block staffs, GB’s, Church workers and ASHA’s. It was preceded by a “Mobilization Fortnight” from June 27 to July 10 for creating awareness on Population control and generating demand for Family Planning.
Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was carried out at different Health Units and Villages of the district with the target groups being eligible couples, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
During the World Population Stabilization Fortnight, 74 Tubectomy, 204 IUCD INSERT IGNOREion was carried out, 144 ECP and 352 OCP was distributed and 1454 Counselling was done. Free IEC materials were also distributed in the Health Units and Villages.
The district team led by Dr. G. Hokishe Sema, Chief Medical officer, Zunheboto, Dr. Hoito, Dy.CMO, Dr. Alemwabang Aier, DPO (RCH & UIP) the DPM and DMO monitored and supervised the Health Units.
