Potholes, pits pose threat to public

Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): The NH-29 section between Dhobinallah and Dhelai Gate has become a treacherous stretch, courtesy the numerous potholes and pits that pose danger to the travelling public and commuters.  

Even in the absence of rain, the stretch has suffered extensive damage due to zero maintenance, stated a press note issued by Ungermeren, Goan Bura, Firing Range, Lingrijan. The situated has aggravated from bad to worst in the last couple of months in this stretch, which was once considered and also highlighted in local media as “the best road in Dimapur.”  

Of late, the stretch from ten-ali till St. John School area has become notorious for accidents and mishaps with not a day passing without any incident, minor or major, further stated the press release.  

While expression displeasure over the deplorable condition of the road, the release further stated that the highway authorities who are responsible for the road repairs were not seen even once engaged in maintenance work after a so called "touch up" repair, which was done sometime beginning of this year.
