‘Right to Vote’ is a constitutional right of every one

Longleng District, SVEEP Campaign on Clean Election

Dimapur, April 29 (MExN): The "Right to Vote" is a constitutional right that gives each individual the freedom to exercise one's vote according to one’s desires, maintained K Limei Phom, SVEEP District Icon for Longleng.

She said this as the main speaker of the Longleng District, SVEEP campaign on "Clean Election" held in various places across the district. The campaigns were held in Hukphang Village & Bhummnyu Village on April 27; and NIELIT, Yingli College's Campus & GHSS, Longleng on April 28.

In each campaign, she appealed all the participants to share and spread concept of “right to vote” as a constitutional right to their friends and relatives.

Limei also spoke on cleansing Electoral Roll by deleting bogus voters, death voters and proxy voters which would eventually make the idea of ‘one person one vote’, a reality.

She advised the participants especially the young voters to franchise one's vote to a good and capable leader for the benefit of all.

Vote for someone who will bring all round development in the district instead of selling it to the corrupted politician, the District Icon further stressed.

She also asked all the young participants who have attained the age of 18 and above to get enrolled in the electoral roll so as to become a voter and EPIC Card holder.

A press note from the Deputy Commissioner & DEO, Longleng Y Denngan Avennoho Phom NCS informed that in all meetings, all section of the society - young and old, students & teaching faculties, Village Council members, church leaders, campus ambassadors, BIOS & the public - took part in the programme.
