NEW DELHI, JANUARY 12 (MExN): Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha Neiphiu Rio along with Dr Chuba Ao, former State BJP President met the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh and BJP National General Secretary, Ram Madhav this evening in New Delhi to impress upon them the desire of the Naga People for solution before the upcoming elections.
A press note from the MP’s office reported that Rio explained at length the sequence of events of the Naga issue leading to its present crucial stage. He was of the opinion that it was the appropriate time for resolving the decades old Naga Political Issue, as majority of the stakeholders are a part of the peace talks.
The meeting also appreciated the genuine concern and efforts of the Government of India towards finding an honourable settlement to the Naga Political problem, “whilst respecting the Constitution of the country and its electoral obligations.”
