Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): A sensitization programme on Child Rights and Child Welfare was conducted at Touch of Hope School, Shokhuvi Village on October 7 by CHILDLINE Dimapur, with around 150 students.
Besides showing informative and educative videos on the rights of every child, CHILDLINE Centre Coordinator, Lozua Kape, informed the students about the Rights of every child sanctioned by the constitution and to seek assistance and information from the toll free CHILDLINE helpline 1098, which is manned 24/7. The coordinator educated the students about the various types of Child Abuse and unwelcome touches by adults, which if encountered should be immediately reported and dealt with as staying silent only aggravates the situation and further encourages the abuser.
Earlier, the proprietor of the school, Nungsangmeren welcomed and introduced the team to the participating students. The programme concluded with a quiz session on the various rights of children and distribution of CHILDLINE leaflets.
