Kohima, September 22 (MExN): St Joseph’s College, Jakhama, Department of English organized its 24th Literary Fest on September 20 at the college Indoor Stadium with the theme ‘Explore Beauty in Art’. Sir James HK, the head of the Department declared the fest open with his message ‘Carpe Diem’.
Sr Angela CMC invoked blessings followed by welcome address delivered by the department’s president Pewe-u Tunyi.
Folk song, debate on the theme ‘Mobile phone is a blessing’ moderated by Dr Sumi Daa-Dhora, HoD, Department of English, dance competition, duet, poetry recitation, declamation, painting, story writing and poetry composition were the highlights of the 24th Literary Fest. Dr Kehlsoril Wanbe crowned the Miss Shakespeare 2018.
The MA English students of the department in the college also participated and competed in the fest. The overall champion prize was begged by Team Austen- 5th semester, section ‘F’. The programme was hosted by Tsachumse and Mary Longoi.
