Team Spearhead, a motorsport and adventure club initiated cleanliness drive at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on August 8.
The Imkongmeren Sports Complex was left in a sorry state and a pitiful sight after the Tsüngremmung Mini Hornbill festival with wastes and plastics all over the ground.
Four days after the Mini Hornbill festival none took care of the mess, including the organizers, therefore the Team Spearhead as a way of giving back to the community, volunteered to clean the ground.
“It is sad to see that the citizens of the town lack so much civic sense and the organizers have also not imposed any rules and regulations with regard to the waste management post the festival” said Aolong Imchen, Vice-president of Team Spearhead.
Team Spearhead encouraged the citizens of Mokokchung to inculcate the habit of putting wastes in waste bins and to work towards keeping the town clean and plastic free.
