ToT on Community First Responder concludes

Dimapur, November 30 (MExN): A four-day Training of Trainers on Community First Responder (CFR) for Dimapur district from November 27 to 30 at Circuit House, Dimapur.  

During the valedictory programme, Assistant Commissioner, Dimapur, Rahul Mali, IAS, in his closing remark insisted that the training on CFR was timely and very important, as the communities are always the first responder in case of any disaster incident, before professional help arrives to the scene.  

Rahul Mali, while congratulating the participants for the successful completion of the training course laments about disaster incidence in the past, where many people have lost their lives and further goes on to say that, many of those lives could have been saved had there been a community-level trained disaster response volunteers. He therefore, urged upon the participants to make good use of the skills they have learnt through the training and also impart the same to their communities as they go back to their respective sub-divisions. The Assistant Commissioner also gave away the training completion certificates to the successful trainees  

Team leader of all the 6 sub-division, in their feedbacks expressed their satisfaction and appreciation to DDMA, SDRF & NSDMA for organizing such a useful training and assures that they will do their best to take this training down to the grass-root level in the days to come.  

Resource person for the just concluded training were: Dr. Thingtimla Yimchunger, MO, CTI; Rendemo Shitio, DDMO, Dimapur; Bubu Patrick Golmei, DPA, Dimapur; along with practical demonstrator from State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Dimapur. All together 35 (thirty-five) District trainers drawn from the 6 sub-division of Dimapur district, completed the ToT on CFR, who will further train 10 (ten) volunteers each from all the Village/Ward under the Sub-Division in phase manner.  

The training organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Dimapur, in collaboration with State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Dimapur and Central Training Institute (CTI), Toluvi, was supported by Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA).
