Woman rescues Blyth’s Tragopan and donates to Tragopan Breeding Centre

Kohima, March 30 (MExN): A woman of Jotsoma village handed over an endangered Blyth’s Tragopan to the Tragopan Breeding Centre, Kohima. The bird had reportedly strayed into the village from the nearby forest on March 24.

According to a press release from the Officer -in-Charge of the breeding centre, the woman— Megoneisalie Nakhro contacted the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change the same day she rescued it.

 

The release added that Nakhro took the right step by informing the Wildlife authority and “it shows that the donor has great concern for wildlife and biodiversity and set a good example for others too.”
