Youth festival cum Sükrünye ends in Phek

  Our Correspondent Kohima | January 15 A week-long youth festival cum Sükrünye organised by Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) ended successfully today in Phek Town under the theme ‘Tapping the feats’.   Speaking at the event today, Dr. Chotisuh Sazo, Advisor, Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland stressed on how the ancestors embraced all the hard work forgetting all the chaos to clasp good hopes throughout the years.   He told the youths not to overlook the ancestors’ traditional moral values and work culture.   Sazo also asked the people to continue to uphold dignity of labour and at the same time to feel free to engage in manual works.   Further, he challenged the youths not to focus only on government jobs, adding that there are many other avenues to be self reliant.   Meanwhile, the MLA requested denizens of Phek to support clean election campaign initiated by NBCC.   Earlier, the programme was chaired by Thuputo Venuh, while Kukhrulu Vero entertained the crowd with special number.   In series of competitions held, New Colony emerged group champion and received a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh. First runner-up was bagged by Bethany 2 colony (Rs. 80,000) and second runner-up went to Zion colony (Rs. 60,000).   Eight colonies received Rs. 10,000 each.
