Kashiho Sangtam, Minister for Geology & Mining, Soil & Water Conservation & NSMDC, while speaking as the special guest for the two-day inter-ward sports meet organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) I Dimapur I-Mandal, at Dimapur District Sports Council (DDSC) stadium on November 9, stated that Dimapur I is the most lucrative constituency in Nagaland as being part of the commercial hub of the state with different communities residing within it. “By hook or by crook, it should be attached with the ruling government at the Centre,” he commented. As it harbours all the Naga tribes and a considerable number of Indians from other states who come and invest in the state.
He therefore urged his party workers to ensure that Dimapur I becomes the best constituency in the state. Apart of these aspects, Sangtam noted that sports is an integral part of an individual’s life. It teaches one-self about accepting failures and achieving success as well along with creating camaraderie among friends and strangers alike, he said. In this regard, he wished upon all the participants to give their best efforts in each of the event.
Earlier in the programme, LR Anthony, President of I Dimapur I Mandal gave the welcome address for the gathering while Khetimo Magh, Pastor, Rengma Baptist Church, Rengma Gaon, Borlengri, presented the invocation. In total, 10 wards are set to participate in the two-day event which will feature football for men, volleyball for women, tug of war and other minor games.
