He shared that in the early days as it was experienced, due to lack of facilities in the Northeast and in Nagaland, many people used to move to Delhi for studies, coaching and acquiring the environment required for studies. However, due to financial constraints, many could not afford first tier cities to prepare for civil services examinations and for which, a lot of talented and capable students and especially those who are willing to put their best effort are unable to receive the same.

Today, with facilities available, he Achumi said best utilization can be made.

“The environment which the library brings is completely different from studying in our home quarters or in our own capacity,” he viewed while sharing that he made best utilization of study centre during his preparation for UPSC examinations.

Observing that the state today has many good institutes and accessibility in terms of internet, Achumi however said absence of study centres was an area where Nagaland was lagging behind.

In other terms a library where one can utilize space for studying, he elaborated.

Among the advantages he highlighted were, meeting serious students who are also preparing for civil services examinations, which creates more room for motivation and competitive spirit and also acts as a form of outer motivation and positive reinforcement among each other.

“The presence of other students also gives us an opportunity to create good peer groups and give complete focus and concentration and also complete the number of hours targeted for studying,” he added.

With these facilities in hand, one do not need to move to Tier 1 cities as the facilities available here are at par with the ones in cities.
