In the first session,  Dr Prashanth introduced the concept of holistic education and stressed that it focuses on the fullest development of the individuals which encourage them to become the finest they can be.

He also called for move away from traditional education which is static and alienating, saying that holistic education with its focus on social, psychological and emotional growth of the learners, promotes optimal learning.

Dr Manish dwelt on the strategies and techniques to embrace holistic education in the classrooms during the second session.
There is a need to teach the learner as a whole and not in parts which includes the emotional, intuitive, social and creative aspects, he said.

To this end, he called for considering the different ways in which learners learn as well as the level of the activity or the content that is being taught.

“The activity used in the classroom should inculcate real life experiences as the entire purpose of education is to prepare learners for real life experiences,” Dr Manish underscored.

He also gave the 5E formula to transform the classroom experience; Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate.
The workshop was organised by the college’s IQAC and moderated by Dr Rukulu Kezo

Earlier, it began with invocation by Tatongkala Lemtur followed by the welcome address by Dr ZokhoVenuh, Principal, CCHE.
