Chokri Area Public Org 28th general session held

The 28th General Session of Chokri Area Public Organisation (CAPO) was held today at Multi Purpose Hall, Kikruma under Phek district.

Gracing the session as the guest speaker, Nagaland’s CAWD & Taxes Advisor Kudecho Khamo called upon the people of Chokri area to uphold unity. He also told them to stand for truth and honesty. He asserted that peace is required for a society to progress. In this, he called upon the people to get rid of selfishness and forgive one another. Highlighting the need to revive the good traditions and culture of the ancestors, the advisor told the gathering to uphold the legacy of their forefathers.

Khamo also urged the people to uphold Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) resolutions on biodiversity conservation and ban on import of pork within its jurisdiction. He also told the youth not to depend on government jobs alone but to explore business venture. Further, he called upon the village councils to be honest and do justice and also extend cooperation for developmental activities.

Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) former speaker Thenucho Tunyi also delivered short speech. CAPO president Vezohu Tunyi delivered presidential address. The programme was led by CAPO Vice President Vedunyi Khesoh while welcome address was delivered by Thipuzhoyo Thira, Chairman, Kikruma Village Council. Vote of thanks was proposed by CAPO General Secretary Vesüli Theluo. 

Meanwhile, Vepozoyi Theyo will now lead the new team of CAPO for the tenure 2024-27 as president.
