COVID-19: Active cases fall below 900-mark in Nagaland

Dimapur, August 31 (MExN):  Nagaland’s total number of active COVID-19 cases remained below the 900-mark, with 28 new cases and 41 new recoveries reported on Monday.

According to official updates, 14 of the new active cases were from Dimapur, 10 from Kiphire and four from Kohima. Among the new cases, 19 were from the armed forces out of which 12 were from Dimapur and seven from Kiphire.

Five of the new cases were returnees—three from Kiphire and two from Dimapur. The remaining four new cases were traced contacts from Kohima. With this, the number of active cases in the state now stands at 874 with a total of 3,058 recoveries.

The state’s total tally of infection stood at 3950 as of 3:00 pm on August 31. Earlier in the day, Nagaland Minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom informed on Twitter that “Contact tracing have been activated by our IDSP (integrated Disease Surveillance Programme) Team & all primary contacts are kept under self isolation.”
