Green skill dev prog on waste management inaugurated

Dimapur, December 5 (MExN): The inaugural programme of the Green Skill Development Programme on Waste Management organized by ENVIS Hub, Nagaland and host organization - Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) was held at the conference hall, NPCB on December 2. Altogether 13 trainees enrolled for the two months training course. 

 


Green Skill Development Programme, an initiative under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change endeavors to develop green skilled workers having technical knowledge and commitment to sustainable development, which will help in the attainment of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), National Biodiversity Targets (NBTs), as well as Waste Management Rules (2016).

 


Dr Kenei Miachieo, Member Secretary delivered the welcome address and encouraged the trainees that through waste management good revenue can be earned. Key note address on the issues of different types of wastes was delivered by Rusovil John, Chairman, NPCB. 

 


The present GSDP course on waste management will involve both theory and practical classes on municipal solid waste, bio-medical waste, plastic waste, e-waste and construction & demolition waste.
