How do you rate the Nagaland State Government’s overall performance in 2021? Give reasons

Some those who voted Good:
•    Compared to 2020, the government’s performance was better in 2021 even though there is big room for improvement.

•    Good. In the present circumstances I say it is good. For many years the state government has been run by the same people – basically Rio, TR and Shurhozelie. The system is the same corrupt system and things will not change unless the system also changes. Between TR and Rio, the latter is a more dynamic and decisive chief minister. There may be many who do not like him as a politician but in the present circumstances, the state government under Rio has done much better in 2021. They can still do better in 2022. The Rio government made some strong decisions which others would not have made. So kudos to his leadership.

•    The government has performed well and one sees some changes in 2021. It is a good start.

•    Good. It is never too late. The state government has made some good progress in 2021. There have been roads that are nearing completion, the departments are becoming more efficient and the leadership seems more responsible. In 2022, the government should take steps to curb corruption, to make contractors accountable for the work and to create a healthy atmosphere in our state.

•    Yes, the Nagaland State government was better than average. They have made some landmark decisions in 2021. Hope those decisions will be in action this year.

•    Good, the bureaucracy seemed to be more active in 2021.

•    Good. Overall we are seeing a slight positive change in the attitude of the government. The corruption and percentage system carries on posing a huge challenge to governance. This must be addressed with seriousness.

Some those who voted Average:
•    It's average. But we can build a better government when public stop taking lots of money during election and in many other ways. Corruption is 50/50 both from government and public.

•    As a chief minister N Rio is an average politician but when you compare him to other chief ministerial candidates, I think he is a cut above the rest.

Some those who voted Unsatisfactory:
•    Unsatisfactory. It was all party & alliance politics, but not for the people. We are yet to get people's favourite who can do courageously solely for the people.

•    Unsatisfactory. Governance at all levels is in a mess. Despite receiving a huge financial assistance from the central government, our state financial position is regrettably unsound and continues to reel under huge and increasing deficit. Our state government doesn't facilitate the much needed solution which every Nagas have been yearning for. Our state government doesn't have no money even to pay for the salaries of its employees. There is no state government on earth which functions in tandem with numerous trigger happy gangsters. The government of the day, in order to protect its chairs brings in the NGOs and tribal bodies in the decision making of the government which is found to be exceedingly embarrassing. Making political appointments like OSD, Special secretaries, Advisors etc and handing over to them the whole system of governance despite having bureaucrats, technocrats, professionals, educationists etc is eating into the roots of the ethics of Administration. Administration of a state cannot be at the hands of irresponsible political cronies. The present system of governance displayed by the present arrangements results into unforgivable divisions among the brothers within a small state like ours. The list goes on.

•    Unsatisfactory. Because Nagaland government is increasing deficit instead of decreasing.

•    Unsatisfactory! What can be a better example if The State Government functioned smoothly??

Some those who voted Others:
•    Nagaland is one of the most beautiful state of India. But the roads of rural places in some district are not good. Roads at Dimapur near Golaghat bus station & near super market, Hongkong market found too crowdy. Dimapur to Kohima road is about to complete & it's good. Even road from Kohima to Wokha is also good. I hope there will be rapid development in coming years to come.

•    Is there an option lower than unsatisfactory?

•    Development process is slower than other states

•    Grace mark de pass kuri dibo

•    Entertainment

•    Back paper ase

•    Classic question!

•    Not good at all

•    No hope

•    Other- they betrayed us

•    Not good at all

•    Deserve lower than unsatisfactory

•    Good should not be an option there

•    Worst government ever

•    Very bad

•    We have better roads perhaps way far better so it's good governance. In addition even electricity was better no hourly system.

•    Good should not be an option there.

•    Very poor

•    I can’t say from Nagaland perspective but in last 3 years I have seen only better things happen around Dimapur. Taking in consideration the testing times since start of 2020 I feel people should rally behind the current government. It’s very easy to criticize and demand but difficult to look inward and contribute. A little more talk around projects taken up and delivered should resonate with citizens. But also consider if not Rio then who?
