How do you rate the quality of teaching in Nagaland?

Some of those who voted GOOD had this to say:
•    The quality of teaching has improved drastically as more and more teachers are getting exposed to new teaching methods both abroad as well as in India. The teaching methods have undergone sea of change everywhere, the teachers are no longer dictating or just giving lecturers. New models of teaching aimed at improving the knowledge of the students are now in and I believe the new breed of teachers are doing just that. But the outdated teachers and bogus teachers needs to be phased out, they are the ones bringing the teaching community in Nagaland a bad name.
•    In every school there are some good teachers who take the trouble to keep up with the changing world, but unfortunately they are not recognized. It is time to recognize their contributions and dedication.
•    There has been a marked enhancement in teaching in the last few years, this is mainly because of more and better exposure among teachers. With greater parent involvement and with school administration taking more responsibility, teachers are compelled to perform well.
•    I think some of the teachers in Nagaland are doing a very splendid job, but unfortunately since most of their colleagues are failing to do their job well, they all get the blame. I think it is wrong for the public to also generalize. Some of the teachers are very thorough in their subject matter and they have the right attitude to communicate and impart quality teaching to the students. They should be recognized and encouraged further. For those teachers who chose the profession of teaching because they wanted to, they are doing a magnificent job and only the students know which teachers are good.

Some of those who voted AVERAGE had this to say:
•    The quality of teaching in Nagaland is only average. They focus too much on pumping information to the students, but you hardly find them trying to develop the students knowledge. This is where the difference between good teaching and bad teaching is. Unfortunately the curriculum and the style of teaching in Nagaland does not allow the students to develop their own thinking, but rather they are considered good only when they start thinking like the teacher. That is why Nagas are good followers, but not good leaders.
•    Good in theory but lacks a lot in practicality
•    Most teachers Don't know what they are teaching, Most schools are in a horrible state in terms of location and infrastructure, most parents Don’t know what their children are Doing in schools, class room teaching is focused on exam and the exam system is focused on memorizing the course content. marks scorings may be high but their performance outside the school is not commendable... and quality education is all round development and the students themselves must know what they are as they pass out certain standards.
•    Very few want to do hard work
•    Most of those in the teaching profession are actually not teachers by calling. They are there only for employment sake or because the teaching position was the only way for a politician or a bureaucrat to help out a family member or a villager. This is a major problem that Nagaland state faced and unless this is rectified the future generations are doomed. Even bogus teaching is a chronic problem. This calls for complete overhauling of the education system.
.
Some of those who voted others had this to say:
•    The selection method for teachers has to be more rigorous. Also schools and colleges must insist that the teachers must keep updating their knowledge and teaching skills and should be sent for training from time to time.
•    Most of the teachers lack the experience and the professionalism to impart quality teaching. They also fail to respect the students and if they are not able to respect students, how can students also respect them, and without respect teaching is a tough job. The teachers lack the right attitude towards both the students as well as towards their profession.
•    Quality of teaching has gone down. Our schools have become commercial mills where students are treated as machines an most teachers are just indifferent mill workers. Not dedicated!
•    The teaching standard prevailing in our educational institution both public and private is tough for me to specifically mark that but in partial terms it is catching up with quality teaching faculty. However, my focus is on the public institutions which has been lagging behind in almost all fronts and needs more drastic reforms even as we applaud the bold steps of late initiated by the education department to eradicate this shameless bogus teachers. Quality education in a real sense of the term must be a holistic one based on career and job oriented with strong value system and work ethics that can contribute much to the society as well. The real problem staring at our educated Naga youths is not an unemployment but unemployability. In the world of knowledge-driven economy where knowledge is universally considered as a very precious commodity, the never-ending best opportunity goes only to the products of this kind of quality upbringing.
•    Most of the teachers are not certified to teach at all. They are at best make shift teachers who out of the need for employment are doing what they need to do. Most of them do not look at teaching as their primary calling.
•    How can you talk about "quality" when 80% of the teachers/lecturers just accidentally found themselves in that position because they couldn't find any other profitable job!  The other 20%, of course are from outside the State, people couldn't find a profitable job in their own home State.  And the losers? our children and our future!!
•    While the quality of teaching is far from good, it will not be fair to blame the teachers alone. The concept of schooling in Nagaland is flawed and even the NBSE does not focus on improving the quality of teaching, they are only concerned about board exams. But now the CBSE taking initiative to do away with the board exams, it is time for NBSE to also start thinking and creating new ideas. Most of the schools have also started more from the point of business rather than education, and so even their approach towards teaching does not allow for quality teaching.
•    Lack general knowledge in teaching
•    The education rating in the scale of 10(ten) is 0.0001.
•    In order that the quality of education improve, no politics please.
•    Bogus teachers with bogus teaching. How will someone without any teaching skills claim to educate our children.
•    The quality of teaching has drastically deteriorated in the present set up. The most affected group are the schools with teachers without requisite teaching skills. Almost half of these teachers are politically appointed and all they do is just do their work. The students do not get quality education in the end.
•    Very poor, spoon feeding, lacks quality. It can't compete like top level exams like iit, jee, cat, aiims, toefl, ielts etc except for some.
•    Progressively downwards in the scale of quality education.
•    No quality at all. The results say it all.
•    The govt sector is the worst hit in terms of quality education. Either the teachers are not skilled or they care less in attending to the class.
•    Like all other departments in our state, education comes second to none. There were days students got quality teachers both in Govt and private sectors. But, sadly, with the politics in everything that we do, even appointments of teachers have affected the quality. The right person is always not selected.
