Kezoltsa: MYO appeals to desist from going to media

Dimapur, April 25 (MExN): The Mao Youth Organisation (MYO) has written an open letter to the President, Tenyimi People’s organization (TPO) with regard to the press statements of “Southern Angami People’s Organisation/Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) on dispute over Kazing/Kozürü/Kezoltsa and Dzüko/Dzükou in spite of TPO standing instruction/resolution prohibiting the same.”

MYO, President, S Kajichew and General Secretary, D Loli in the letter stated that the Mao Council is one of the signatories to the Arbitration Undertaking of 2017. It claimed that “the stricture on issuing statement on the land dispute was decided with a view to avoid paper wars within the Tenyimi family and to ensure congenial conditions for smooth settlement of the dispute under Tenyimi Customary laws and traditional practices and for which the TPO has instituted a Board of Arbitrators (BOA).”

It further stated that all the three contending parties have submitted their position papers, counters to position papers, additional information, counters to additional information and maps, and field visits and aerial surveys over the dispute areas have been undertaken in the course of the arbitration underway. “The merits of the case are to be drawn from the case materials that are now in the custody of the TPO/BOA,” it stated.

Therefore, the MYO has requested the “TPO to prevail upon the parties’ concern to desist from going to the press/media which will vitiate relationships among the Tenyimi brethren by informing the public with only one-sided versions and trigger a parallel trial on media which will disturb the arbitration process.”
