Kohima College celebrates 54th fresher’s day

Kohima, August 21 (MExN): Kohima College marked its 54th fresher’s day with Dr A Nshoga, Director, Directorate of Higher Education as the special guest on August 19.

A DIPR report stated that in his address, Dr Nshoga highlighted the privilege of Kohima College students in Nagaland, emphasising their access to exceptional educators. He stressed the students’ responsibility for the college’s growth, underlining that success is achieved through hard work and determination. 

Dr Nshoga reminded the fresher of their unique role as the first batch under the National Education Policy (NEP) in Nagaland, encouraging them to embrace challenges for a brighter future.

The programme commenced with invocation and welcome note by Dr Petevinuo Chase, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science, and Dr Vitsosie Vupru, Principal, Kohima College, respectively.

The event also featured the induction of the newest Kohima College Students’ Council team, led by General Secretary Nuvekho Rhakho. Outgoing General Secretary Hyulo Tsela shared his experiences at Kohima College and highlighted the activities of KCSC for the academic year 2022-2023. Lhouviselie Kehie from the Department of Commerce and Rovinguno Nakhro from the Department of Political Science were crowned as Mr and Miss Fresher 2023.
