DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 16 (MExN): General Observer, Madhukar Agneya, Police Observer, Akhilesh Mishra, Expenditure Observers, S. Nataraj and H.C. Verma had a meeting with the representatives of all the contesting candidates at DPDB Conference Hall, Kohima on February 15, 2018.
In the meeting, DC Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan highlighted on the aspects of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and requested the expenditure agents of all the candidates to adhere to the guidelines laid by the Election Commission of India.
For holding rallies and meetings by the candidate, the DC informed them to make use of Suvidha, an online permission portal which will be attended by their concerned Returning Officers. In regard to expenditure monitoring, the rate charges have been given to all the candidates, which should be maintained in the expenditure account of the candidate as per the guidelines of ECI, he informed.
He also highlighted on the calendar of SVEEP Mobile Van for sensitization of the people and for first level checking and randomization of EVMs and VVPAT. He further requested all the political parties to extend their best support and cooperation to the electioneering officials and district administrative officers in order to have free, fair conduct of the Election.
Nodal Officer, EEM, Shashank Pratap Singh gave the structure of Election Expenditure Monitoring Mechanism comprising of the Expenditure Observer, Assistant Expenditure Observers, Video Surveillance Team, Video Viewing Team, Accounting Team, Expenditure Monitoring Control Room, Media Certification and Monitoring Committee(MCMC), Flying Squads and the Static Surveillance Team (SST).
Sr. SP, Kohima, Aotemsu also gave a briefing on security arrangement and other related matters and sought cooperation during the round checking by the patrolling/mobile patrolling for the safety of the people.
